Hope in Despair

Out of the darkness of night I come,
called the Bright and Morning Star.
Astronomers have given the planet
the name, “Venus.”
From earliest times, a sign of hope
in a world filled with despair.
I would hear the sound of voices
praising My Name, the Greater Light
arises, wakening dark shapes
and giving form and life.
