Move in closer. Miss nothing

A Commentary by Constance Vanides

" know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:19)

In this month of valentines and love messages and such I'm presenting God's love letter to you.

When your lover, your sweetheart, is with you, you hang on to every word he says. You move in closer so as not to miss anything. You are, so to speak, "all ears" as you give him your full attention.

That's how it is with God. "The lover of your soul" wants you quiet. "Be still, and know that I am God..." He is saying to you. (Psalm 46:10). And you respond by attending to Him alone and forgetting about yourself. Your greatest need is to hear what God is saying. Nothing else matters.

It's just you and Him. And very soon it's only Him and you are humbled before the great God of the universe who is wanting you to know what's on His mind, giving "...grace to the humble". Your own self nature is turned over to Him.

When God sees you emptied of your own self, fully submitted, God can then fill you with Himself. He wants the Holy Spirit to indwell you to the extent that what you do or how you act reflects His very own character and nature.

It's awesome to see what a yielded vessel can become. Are you willing to ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you and then discover what God can do through you? First, He wants us to hear what He is saying, in order for our works to follow His way. He's the One who is all power and glory in the Kingdom!

I am here to touch you.
I give you so much;
more than you even ask for.
I am here to fill you
with all that I am.
All I need is for you to ask.
My love overcomes all your fears,
overcomes your weaknesses,
removes past sorrows,
bringing you into My presence,
and filling you with resurrection power!
