God's Will in Today's World

My light shines in you
to tell you what I want you to know.
Be before Me, then,
constantly in prayer.
For I would speak to you
in moments when you are least aware.
The quiet, submitted heart is
the one most ready to receive.
I would want you still before Me
in moments of great testing;
at times when you are wont to move.
Stop first, dear heart,
and present that first to Me.
Do you see?
I want you to share
your world with Me
and I will share Myself with you.
Walk with Me. Yes.
Or follow close My steps.
Never think you know the way
and leave Me far behind.
I would miss your closeness
and you will miss
the whisper in your heart.

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth. Let him
sit alone and keep silent, because God has laid it
on him; let him put his mouth in the dust
— There may yet be hope.
