“You are the light of the world...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14, 16)
The feather caught my eye. Some blue jay’s scuffled encounter left him bereft of part of his colorful plumage. In the shade, the feather’s color was hardly noticeable. Only when I held it up to catch the sun did the deep blue/brownish coloring against black stripes come alive with vibrancy!
Isn’t that just like the son of God! Only when the light of Jesus shines through us does our drabness awaken to reveal our hidden colors. And, just like the color of one Jay’s feather doesn’t stand out as much as do several of the same feathers combined, the body of Christ working together becomes the energetic reflection of God to others!
Are your colors showing forth in “His marvelous light”? Continually abiding in Jesus is the only way to catch His light. Come out of the shade!
