SEE WHAT I HAVE FOR YOU!
Open that door!

A Commentary by Constance Vanides

"This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice
and be glad in it."

(Psalm 118:24 NKJ)

I had spent the whole dreary day inside my house and inside my own self. The virus both my husband and I acquired, continued into its fourth week. We were worn out, had lost our appetites, usual enthusiasms and energies. We hadn't even realized the sun was shining.

The yard needed watering. I forced myself to get up to do something useful. Walking through the dark garage I approached the side door to the yard. As my hand reached for the knob, the gentle, quiet, re-assuring voice of Jesus whispered to my heart, "See what I have for you!"

I opened the door into His light. Innumerable shades and hues of colors surrounded me, as only the work of the Master Creator could offer! His Spirit immediately lifted my spirit and guided me into such delights for this moment of time, just for me! He knew I needed this reminder to keep me from sinking farther into my dismal self-thoughts.

He gave the mocking bird to "...sing among the branches," (Psalm 104:12), the movement of winged creatures, from blossom to fragrant blossom and a soft "...wind out of His treasuries" (Psalm 135:7) to lift my face. It was all for me!

"What a wildly wonderful world, GOD!
You made it all, with Wisdom at your side,
Made earth overflow with your wonderful creations.
...If you turned your back, they'd die in a minute--
Take back your Spirit and they die,
Revert to original mud;
Send out your Spirit and they spring to life--
The whole countryside in bloom and blossom."
(Psalm 104:24-30 The Message)

Never mind an untrained voice, "I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being." (Psalm 104:33) Will you join with me?
